INNOVATIVE NEW COACHING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL COACHES & SHOOTERS

Dear Coach / Administrator

It has been decided create a series of Australiawide localised camps - a “TRA Coaching Roadshow”. That is, TRA will support events in each State for the benefit of shooters at all levels and ages. Of course, one of the underlying aims is talent identification and the promotion of Air rifle & 3P.

The intention is to receive applications from interested States (Application Form below), liaise through the particular State Administration and State Coach to arrange requested coaching/training events and to supplement local coaches with those from interstate. This may, for example bring in particular expertise on Scatt, Air Rifle, 3P, mental training etc. And as we all know, someone new saying things perhaps in a slightly different way is always a benefit.

While TRA may fund the travelling coaches to attend and help develop the program of training, this project will always be held in cooperation with the particular State and its coaches. No State is being coerced or forced into participation. Funds have been made available through AISL and TRA has a wonderful opportunity to develop talent. This is also outined in the Development Plan that has been sent to all States and Councillors.

To facilitate this process, TRA requires the completion of the APPLICATION FORM below. You will then be contacted by an Officer of TRA to progress the application.

THE PROCESS - It is anticipated that the program will be implemented under the following guidelines:
1. Application for events under the roadshow scheme, should be made to the TRA Exec, via the form above, at least one month prior to the intended event. TRA Exec response to the request will be returned within 7 days. A broad budget of intended expenditure should accompany any request (showing State contribution if applicable)
2. TRA gives approval for the event and determines the level of support.
3. States applying for roadshow coaching events may request the services of any coach in the coaching panel, subject to their availability.
4. Liaison with State re proposed date / selected coach / programme.
5. State Coach should work with the incoming coach to determine the precise event program. Local coaches should be specifically invited to complement the invited coach.
6 Practical range capacity and available range and coaching support staffing should be considered when determining invitee numbers – as a optimal guide, the number of athletes should not exceed 25 persons on any day.
7. Where at all possible, promote one specific day for promotion particularly to shooters under the age of 26 years and one for general coaching work (especially promoting position and air).
8. Advertising for the event – invitees should be made aware of the intended and underlying promotion of position and air shooting to all present.
9. Session is conducted.
10. Once the event has been held, a report on attendees / activities & program, and a budget showing expenditure of TRA money should be forwarded to the TRA Exec (with a courtesy copy to the Coaching Council Convenor) within one month of the event.

The ongoing Development Plan has been circulated, and for this to work effectively, the State events for the upcoming six months must be place very soon. That is, any training/coaching events up to the end of December 2008 for which your State requires TRA support (both financial and manpower) must be planned at least in principle.

This is a wonderful opportunity - let's grab it and make it happen.

My phone number is 089 478 5881 should you wish to talk about this exciting project.
