TRA Annual General Meeting 2007

AISL JUDGES COMMITTEE

The AISL Judges Committee has enjoyed an active year since my report to Target Rifle Australia Inc. last year.

The Committee met formally twice during this period. The first meeting last November at SISC Sydney and again in Adelaide during March. Contact was also on a regular basis by phone and email.

The Sydney meeting was held with the entire Committee, together with Mr Nick Sullivan CEO AISL and Mr. Bob Marshall AISL Board member.

This meeting discussed Interalia the need for an ISSF Judges and Refresher Course, EST courses within the Oceania/Asia region, officials and volunteers for Sydney World Cup and Oceania 2007, consideration of increasing the Jury numbers for Oceania, training availability and funding for ISCD officials and Level 1, 2 & 3 AISL courses.

We congratulate Elaine Forward's appointment to the ISSF Shotgun Committee.

It was noted that Elaine Forward and Sharon Reynolds gained the only overseas appointments for Australian Jury members for 2007.

Mr. Aado Maranik's appointments are made by the ISSF for Equipment Control.

The Committee meeting held in Adelaide, with CEO Mr. Nick Sullivan present, during March was a full agenda and planning officiating programs up to 2012, develop an officiating pathway [similar to the coaching pathway] for those who do not wish to embark upon a coaching career. This to be completed by early 2008, early appointment of officials to be able to obtain leave, development of the Level 2 course and officiating at AISL competitions.

Elaine Forward to write to ISSF Judges regarding refresher courses.

The Board of AISL are considering the insurance problems of the AISL Level 1 Instructors. Not resolved as yet.

The Committee plans to meet early 2008, to finalize planning to the period 2012 London Olympics.

A survey of Rifle accredited Judges at the World Cup Sydney indicated the need for Rifle was not necessary as nearly all of our Judges are and have been very active during the past few years and this shall continue, however if there are significant changes to the new Statutes effective from 1st January 2009, a course could be considered

LOG BOOK.

Consideration was given to the introduction of a log book for ISSF Judges to be signed off the Organizing Committee and to be retained by the official, however with our low numbers everyone is aware where we are officiating. Ongoing.

BLAZER.

Consideration was given to having blazers for ISSF Judges, to be purchased by the official. Can be supplied by Fletcher Jones or Neat & Trim. Elaine to go into costing and see if any support from Judges. They would look great on shooting ranges. Logos to be investigated. Ongoing.

ISSF RENEWALS 2007.

Eight renewals are due 31st December 2007 and those seeking renewal have been advised and their application forms processed and returned to the ISSF, for the ISSF Judges Committee meeting 25/26th January 2008.

ISSF JUDGES DETAILS UPDATE.

The AISL Judges Committee wishes to update the particulars of Licence holders as to cor~ rect address and contact details. This to be completed by end September and database at AISL subsequently upgraded.

AISL TECHNICAL DELEGATES.

The Judges Committee resolved to have Technical Delegate/s for Australia Cups and Australia Cup Final, AISL International Grand Prix and other AISL sanctioned competitions, effective 6th March 2007 onwards. Appointments were made covering the current year. A couple of changes did have to be made to the appointments this year.

It shall be my responsibility to have the Technical Delegates appointed for the next five years across all three disciplines. It is my intention to have the dates as far in advance as possible to allow flexibility with personnel and time frames. I shall be contacting the disciplines for nominations for 2008 and into 2009 if at all possible.

This decision shall allow Licence holders to gain experience within Australia.

JUDGES COURSE.

The Committee has recognized the need to prepare the next generation of ISSF Judges and Range Officials looking beyond 2012.

One Member, [State] has identified the need for a Judges Course, with consideration given to RPL or a National Federation course is conducted prior to the Judges Course.

OCEANIA CHAMPIONSHIPS.

The Oceania Championships are scheduled for 28th October to 4th November 2007. Application for Jury, Range Officials and Volunteers are due to be returned to the AISL office no latter than 31st August next.

WORLD CUPS 2008.

Opportunity for overseas travel for jury members is very limited, as the ISSF will only allow five nominations across all disciplines from any National Federation. Our Committee is endeavoring to have this raised to two from each discipline for selection.

The World Cup in Beijing next year is a test event for the Olympics and Judges shall come from the Standing Committee's of the ISSF and the host nation. [10th April to 21st April 20081, with maybe some exceptions.

A World Cup in Rifle is scheduled for Rio de Janeiro, [March 21st to 30th 20081

The remaining World Cups in Rifle next year are scheduled for Munich and Milan, back during May.

World Cup Final venue not announced as at the preparation of this report.
