TRA Annual General Meeting 2007

TREASURER'S REPORT

The financial statement for the year ended 30th May 2007 reflects a very healthy financial position. The profit shown this year appears to be high but late payments of Capitation fees from the 2006 year of $11,000 and sales of ammo of about $10,000 which were purchased last financial year have distorted this figure.

Transfers between accounts have been reflected as per by laws sources and uses of funds.

Very little of the proposed budgets approved at 2006 Council have been utilised. The Technical committee met in Melbourne on the weekend of 23124 June 2007. Total cost for this meeting was $3,891 and will be shown in the 2008 financial report. Committee Convenors should submit an updated budget for approval for the new financial year

On the current level of activity capitation fees could remain at the same level as last year.

Factors that would affect a change would be a change to a Board structure and a change from the current format of the magazine. Level of funding for representative teams may influence decisions. Interest from investments now provide significant income equivalent to some 200+ members.

Turnover in RWS ammunition has been relatively slow. This situation may change as stocks of Eley diminish. If sales of RWS do not improve in the next year and as there is negligible profit to TRA consideration must be given to continuing with this service to our members.

From 1st July 2007 the ATO have introduced changes to GST reporting for non profit organisations. From July 2007 the turnover threshold has been raised to $150,000. Should TRA cease trading in ammunition or our sales remain low our turnover will be below the thresh~ old. If the loss of the Eley contract is to be permanent this time consideration could be given to cease being registered for GST.

Membership seems to have remained fairly static for the last few years although the number is not high. As TRA is limited in its options to gain members if any initiatives are implemented an increase can only be achieved through cooperation from all levels of membership.
