The "Athlete Honour Board" is under way. As with the Honour Board that is on the website noting the volunteers who have given their time and skills to the advancement of ASBRA to become ASARA to become TRA over the years, it is most certainly time to honour those athletes who have had success in our sport.
It is with the sensibility of hindsight that it could be said that the administration should have held all these documents ‑ regrettably this has not always been the case.
With the passage of time it has not been an easy task to collate the material (either for the Council Honour Board or now this Athlete Honour Board). I have searched high and low, and fortunately in my time as TRA Secretary I valued and stored these documents, and I was lucky enough that the current Secretary Mr Peter Kelley was able to retrieve much of the information from the archives.
However, there are many gaps from the earlier years that I need your help to fill. If you have trophies, badges, medals or even very old newsletters or magazines that list National Championship results then 1 would be grateful to have the results, or at least the names of the champions in the categories as listed on the Honour Board.
Another area of concern ‑ as an example, it would be almost impossible to now list all those who have shot in the Australian Team, in Olympics, Commonwealth Games and World Championships. That is my next challenge after the Athlete Honour Board...it will be the International Honour Board. Can you help with this one as well??
